I have a Lenovo Y580 and have to say works wonderful I tidied it up a bit with usb 3.0 and things to make it tight. But when I had mavericks 10.9.1 my sound was working which the codec is 269 but when I updated to 10.9.2 sound went bye bye and had to use voodoo hda 2.8.6 which btw has no voodoosettingsloader in apps folder I installed it because voodoo came as a package but when I look inside apps no voodosettingsloader not gonna go crazy over it but is there anyone who can help me get my original sound back like it was before upgrading to 10.9.2 I do not know how to patch applehda but was wondering if anyone can help?

if the AppleHDA.kext has worked with Mavericks 10.9.1, then you should have to use a patched AppleHDA.kext for 10.9.2 or which version you now want to update.
Or you patch the original untouched ApplHDA.kext from the update version with the details of your previous ApplHDA.kext
but then remove the VoodooHDA.kext and VoodooHDA prefpane

here are tools in order to patch your AppleHDA
attached are two video streams that explain an example of how to do it. there are other tutorials .. or use the Google search engine.

good Luck!
